contours is designed for non-conventional theatres, galleries or other public spaces. It creates a responsive ecosystem containing viewers, performers and computers. Viewers are contained kinaesthetically and visually within the ecosystem of the performance, not for a fluid and seamless reality but to experience distortions and interruptions of the space-time-body 'discontinuum.'

Up to 50 audience members at a time climb into this environment which acts as an interface between the audience and the performance. The stage allows contours to work with different image-body relationships, viewing angles, proximities, directions of movement and gaze, while escaping the traditional confine of 'life-size dancer in front of overwhelming video projection'.
